UCB 16.0 “Prickly Pike” Available

The latest version of the AGL platform, UCB 16, also known under the codename “Prickly Pike” is available for download!

Developed through a joint effort by AGL member companies, the Unified Code Base (UCB) is an open source software platform that can serve as the de facto industry standard for infotainment, telematics and instrument cluster applications.

UCB 16/Prickly Pike includes an operating system, board support package, middleware, application framework and application APIs. Notable updates to the AGL platform include:

  • Updated to latest YP kirkstone
  • Added flutter workspace automation and update to Flutter workspace development environment
  • Infotainment:
    • Updates to HTML5 and Flutter images for infotainment demo
    • Flutter-auto embedder and homescreen, dashboard, hvac apps converted to Dart.
  • Instrument Cluster:
    • Containerized demo (instrument cluster and infotainment) integration
    • Container manager
    • Extended image with IVI and IC in system containers
  • Virtualization:
    • VirtIO loopback support added
  • Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF) available as build option (agl-cef). Chromium 108 available via CEF.
  • Chromium 91 available as default.
  • Systemd unit based application activation with sandboxing (technical preview)
  • SELinux in permissive mode
