By May 27, 2013Announcements

During his keynote at the Automotive Linux Summit 2013 Spring in Tokyo Matt Jones, Senior Technical Specialist Infotainment for Jaguar Land Rover and Vice President of GENIVI, announced the winners of the first AGL User Experience Contest. The successful winners had less than six weeks from the announcement of the contest and the submission deadline. The contest was designed to be a creative and innovative challenge. The winners truly lived up to the challenge.

The winning entries are:

  • Ford Motor Company – Best New Feature
  • Reaktor – Best Visual Appearance
  • Tata Elxsi – Best User Experience

More details:

Ford Motor Company –  Best New Feature

Ford integrated their open source Smart Device Link solution into the AGL Demonstrator image. Smart Device Link has already been an open source middleware project published by the GENIVI Alliance. Now the solution has been integrated into a complete software stack with operating system, user interface and device drivers.

Reaktor – Best Visual Appearance

Reaktor’s submission shows a fresh new design with appealing graphics keeping the portrait format of the original SDK. The screens are clearly structured and the driver is presented with the most important information that can be captured at a glance.

Experience the design.

Tata Elxsi – Best User Experience

Tata Elxsi’s submission convinces through its clean and consistent design that presents the driver with the most important information and controls without being distracting. This solution also features backgrounds that change their color hues dependent on the time of the day and an integrated user manual.
